"Crawford Slip Method - CSM" by Professor C.C. Designed in 1925 at the University of Southern California, Crawford is a masterpiece of collective opinion processing.
Instead of asking questions at the microphone where only a few brave people speak, the facilitator distributes a packet of small paper slips (business card size notes or sticky notes) to dozens or hundreds of participants. The problem statement is clear. The main rule: "Each idea in a separate, short and clear sheet". Participants write slips without speaking until the final whistle (eg 10 minutes). At the end, hundreds of slips are collected and classified by the facilitator on the board into process clusters and codified in the form of an executive report.
